Maintenance & Engineering Department

Applications are currently being invited for the role of Avionics Specialist within the Maintenance and Engineering Department. Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility to provide continuing airworthiness management of the avionic aspects of the Aer Lingus A320 and A330 series aircraft in accordance with EASA Part-M and National Airworthiness Authority requirements. 

Key Responsibilities & Duties include:
Providing continuing airworthiness management of the avionic aspects of the A320 series aircraft and liaise with A330 Technical support provider as required
Generating Engineering Orders in AMOS to accomplish continuing airworthiness requirements
Generating Engineering Orders and Technical Notices as required from AMOS
Supporting Line and Base Maintenance to ensure aircraft serviceability and provide support to other departments in Aer Lingus as necessary (including Materials, Quality, Air Safety, Planning, Ground Operations, Flight Operations, Finance)
Facilitating the acceptance and return of Aircraft to lessor/airline (through document inspection, physical aircraft inspections, key SB status, etc.)
Processing Technical Assistance Queries (TAQ) assigned to the Avionics Department
Evaluating and implementing Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives
Liaising with Original Equipment Manufacturer, National authorities, Part 21 and other external agencies as required to provide continued airworthiness, support and compliance
Liaising with Compliance and Standards departments in relation to closing audit findings
Providing call-out support as required to assist MCC in AOG/work stoppage situations
Project managing the technical aspects of cabin reconfiguration and new on-board systems projects
Maintaining a detailed knowledge of current air legislation
Developing and supporting the implementation of Lean within the Engineering Department
To be considered for the role of Avionics Specialist, candidates must meet the following:

Essential Criteria:
Hold an aircraft maintenance technical qualification in EASA Part 66 B2 discipline or equivalent third level qualification
A number of years working experience in an Engineering / Technical Services Department / Aircraft Maintenance environment within an airline and/or MRO
Strong working knowledge of AMOS
Experience in writing technical work instructions
Excellent understanding of aircraft regulatory requirements
Knowledge of Airbus and other OEM Technical Documentation, and IT offerings
Knowledge and understanding of EASA / FAA mandatory documentation
Knowledge of EASA Part 21 certification documents
Strong working knowledge Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint): Excel in particular
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Current unrestricted worldwide passport
Hold a current full driving licence
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year background check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in.
Possess and be able to demonstrate the key competencies and skills outlined below

*If you are a non Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
