We are currently looking for a DEI Principal Developer on our growing Digital Enterprise Integration (Middleware) Team, located in Dublin Airport. The Digital Enterprise Integration Principal Developer will work within the DEI development team reporting to a DEI Team Lead. This role will lead the technical delivery for a team or group of services, with a technical design focus. The Principal Developer will work closely with the architect and the project Technical Lead(s) to ensure adherence to the solution design for a project or multiple projects.you will have responsibility for the quality and timeliness of the middleware development initiatives which are the foundation for many Aer Lingus projects and ambitions. You will help build out the vision of the organisations integration strategy and deliver this vision through the implementation of an Enterprise Service Bus in addition to managing and leading the development of solutions within the digital enterprise integration team.

Responsible for overall technical ownership and direction of relevant domain
Technical owner of DEI technical solutions across multiple services
Work closely with the Technical Lead and Solution Architect
Act as a champion for development best practices
Act as a champion for continuous learning so that the skill level of the department continues to improve and deliver more effectively
Driving standards and Innovation within the development team
Work in compliance with coding standards and best practices.
Perform code reviews with a focus on design principles and recommend improvements.
Provide assistance to Junior Developers when needed.
Develop coding documentations and other technical specifications for assigned projects.
Responsible for defining Delivery Transformation & proving any POC work
Your qualifications/ criteria:
Previous experience as a technical lead in a large scale software development project
10 years + Java technologies
Solid experience working with REST services and Spring Frameworks
Strong Design knowledge, both code design patterns and API design principles
Application Servers (JBoss an advantage)
Awareness of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and similar design techniques
Experience of Web Services
Continuous build/integration (Jenkins, Maven, Git)
Strong communications skills, both documentary and verbal, from deep technical through to business presentations at executive level
Ability to present technical ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Ability to lead a team of developers, managing day to day tasks and ensuring high quality code deliverables
Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide 2 verifiable references
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year back ground check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in
*If you are a non Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
Professional IT qualification and/or proven working experience with software development
Experience of Messaging in particular experience using ESB technologies and/or IBM products
Knowledge of API Management, Service registry, Service Discovery an advantage
Good knowledge of airline business processes
