Digital Enterprise Integration Principal Developer
Digital and Mobile Department, Dublin
Are you interested in growing your career with Ireland’s only 4 star airline? We are looking for a Principal Developer to join our growing Digital Enterprise Integration (Middleware) Team. Located in Dublin Airport, the role reports into the DEI Team Lead and will also work closely with the Architect and the Project Technical Lead(s) to contribute to solution designs. You will have responsibility for enforcing best practices, ensuring code quality and applying appropriate design patterns for the middleware integration development initiatives. You will also help build out the vision of the organisations integration services strategy.

Work with architect to build out the vision of the organisations integration strategy
Work with the architect to drive the delivery transformation program
- Find the balance between legacy and modern services and integration architecture
Driving standards and Innovation within the development team
Responsible for overall technical ownership and direction of relevant services and service integration
Bridge between Technical Lead(s) and Solution Architect
Act as a champion for development best practices
Act as a champion for continuous learning
Perform code reviews with a focus on design principles and recommend improvements.
Provide assistance to Junior Developers.
Develop coding documentations and other technical specifications for assigned projects.
Your qualifications & key criteria:
Solid experience working with
- REST Services and
- Spring Frameworks
- Integration Patterns
- Messaging Frameworks
Strong Design knowledge, both code design patterns and API design principles
Previous experience as a technical lead in a large scale software development project
10 years + Java technologies
Awareness of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and similar design principles
Strong communications skills, both documentary and verbal, from deep technical through to business presentations at executive level
Ability to present technical ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Ability to lead a team of developers, managing day to day tasks and ensuring high quality code deliverables
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide 3 verifiable references
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year back ground check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in
*If you are a non-Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from those country/countries
Application Servers (JBoss an advantage)
Experience of Web Services
Continuous build/integration (Jenkins, Maven, Git)
Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
Professional IT qualification and/or proven working experience with software development
Experience of Messaging using ESB technologies and/or IBM products
Knowledge of API Management, Service registry, Service Discovery an advantage
Good knowledge of airline business processes
Experience working in a cloud environment an advantage
Container experience such as docker
