Duty Airport Manager 
Ground Operations - London Heathrow/Gatwick Airports


Applications are invited for the position of Duty Airport Manager, London Heathrow/London Gatwick Airport.  Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager (ROM), this role is a fantastic development opportunity to gain experience at the two exceptionally busy International Airports.  
Working as part of a team, on a shift basis, you will manage all aspects of the Aer Lingus Ground Operation at London Heathrow Airport/Gatwick Airport through our third-party handling agents and suppliers.  

Key Responsibilities & Duties Include: 
Ensuring that handling services provided to Aer Lingus flights by Ground Handling Agents and suppliers are performed in accordance with the appropriate handling agreements and in conformity with all operative, qualitative and safety requirement
In conjunction  with the ROM manage and review the SLA to ensure that it is accurate, effective and reflect the ever changing business environment
Working with the ROM and Duty Manager colleagues to ensure the integration of the Aer Lingus Safety Management Systems and Ground Operations Safety Management at the station
Liaising with the OCC and HCC to effectively manage delays/disruptions/cancellations ensuring Guest Service standards are maintained
Managing safety incident through the SaftyNet system ensuring reports raised within 72 hours of any safety incident taking place
Developing initiatives with a view to reducing unit business cost per passenger and aircraft movement
Assisting ROM and DM colleagues with driving OTP and strong VOG results 
Maintaining a positive and proactive relationship with the Airport Authority, third-party handlers, other airlines, agencies and service providers to ensure that Aer Lingus objectives and targets are met
Understanding the Ground Operation budgets and the impact of day-to-day decisions 
Must be contactable 24/7

To be considered for the role of Duty Airport Manager, candidates must meet the following:

Essential Criteria:
Hold a current full clean driving licence 
At least 5 years guest service operational experience incl. supervisory experience
Guest focused with a strong awareness of the Aer Lingus service standards and guest engagement initiatives
Sound knowledge of Aer Lingus Ground Operations procedures and policies
Thorough knowledge of aviation best practice and an understanding of the scope of Ground Operations
Good understanding of the Aer Lingus Safety Management and Operations Quality Systems
Proven computer skills including Microsoft Office
Proven ability to work additional hours in the event of delays, emergencies
Must possess excellent attendance & punctuality record
Possess and be able to demonstrate the key competencies and skills outlined below
Fluent in English, both verbal and written
Eligible to live and work in the EU / UK
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide 3 verifiable references
Able to pass a 5 year security background check*
Possession and demonstration of the key competencies and skills outlined below

*As this position is based in the UK and if you are a non UK Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the UK for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/ countries

Desirable Criteria:
A sound knowledge and appreciation of the detail and complexity of the regulatory environment governing ground / airport operations, or the ability to acquire such knowledge rapidly
