Resource Planning is a core part of the organisation – identifying the scale of requirement for Pilots and Cabin Crew based on Aer Lingus’ plans, optimising the deployment of these groups based on the size and shape of our schedule, and evaluating opportunities to improve productivity across these functions.
This role Reports to the Resource Planning Manager, within the Planning group. The Resource Planning Analyst will predominantly be responsible for the development and maintenance of resource plans for Flight Operations (c.600 employees) and providing specialist support to Cabin Crew resource planning. The Resource Planning Analyst will be responsible for optimising resources and engage routinely with local management, Network Planning and the Operations Planning/Research group.

Your role:

Developing and maintaining manpower plans for Flight Operations covering budgets, forecasts, seasonal plans and  multi-seasonal plans, this to include all offline activities 
o Forecasting staff requirements, by contract type, identifying potential staff surplus or deficits and identifying recruitment needs, across the full time period spectrum
o Crew productivity
o Actual out-turn versus plan and budget, sickness/absence, annual leave and offline activity
o Annual leave planning and distribution
Analysing seasonal schedules and develop flying requirement, using the appropriate optimisation tools, to ensure schedule is planned at lowest cost
Ensuring a structured and transparent approach to roster process and providing recommendations to management regarding future controls and processes 
Modelling scenarios using the automated tools available in relation to alternative roster models network planning proposals (new routes, bases), new working arrangements
Engaging with Network Planning, suggesting schedule changes that can reduce Flight Operations staff cost
Providing support, and related testing, to Operations Planning, in coordination with our IT group/supplier
o Supporting the approval and sign-off of testing on behalf of the Operations Planning Department
o Development and execution of test scripts
o Developing an understanding of the interactions between the primary computer applications applicable in this area, including but not limited to Jeppessen
Completing other planning and analytical tasks, as required
Acting as a focal point of coordination within the Crew Supply Chain between Network Planning, Operations Planning, and Flight Operations Areas
Supporting Cabin Crew Resource Planning

Your qualifications & key criteria: 

Third level degree in a business/financial area with a high level of quantitative/analytical content, or equivalent experience
Proven experience in data analysis 
Highly proficient in use of MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Experience in developing KPI reports, dashboards and analytics
Comfortable working in a fast paced environment, working to tight timelines, while remaining calm, proactive, resourceful and efficient
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of an integrated team to meet deadlines
Proven ability to solve problems in a positive, measured and creative way
Strong aptitude for analytical reasoning
Demonstrated ability to think creatively and a solution oriented attitude
High level of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
Strong IT knowledge and capability
Strong oral and written skills with the talent to present facts and opinions articulately and objectively
Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of an integrated team to meet deadlines
Flexibility to work around time lines
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year background check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in

*If you are a non Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries 

Desirable Criteria: 

Prior experience of resource planning and/or resource budgets in a complex dynamic environment
Knowledge of IT applications, including Planning, Rostering and Annual Leave planning products
Understanding of day to day operational considerations
