Are you interested in growing your career with Ireland’s only 4 Star Airline? We are looking for a Head of Business Technology to join our Business Technology Department. As Head of Business Technology you will be responsible for the Business Technology Function and will provide oversight of the IT Operational environment for the Aer Lingus IT organisation. Based in Dublin Airport, you will report into the Chief Financial Officer and will be the primary point of contact for the business leadership team regarding IT Service Delivery matters.
Main Responsibilities of the role:
Setting the IT strategic direction along with establishing an effective IT Service Management model and governance which is aligned with overall Aer Lingus business strategy
Ensuring the delivery of the IT Transformation program, both the transition of IT Operations to IAG Group Business Services (IAGGBS) and the establishment of the new IT organisation
Leading by translating the Group vision for IT Operations into objectives and policies that support the Aer Lingus strategic vision
Building, leading and motivating a multi discipline team
Working with IAGGBS Group IT, scope and implement IT strategy roadmap which is aligned with overall Aer Lingus business strategy and Group direction of travel
Working with other 3rd party service providers to ensure the delivery of services guaranteeing quality, value for money, on-time delivery and internal customer satisfaction
Supporting the establishment of an Analytical Centre of Excellence
Ensuring the continued rollout of the Technology Program Office best practices and process
Identifying and implementing service efficiencies and optimisation to sustain a continuous service improvement plan
Ensuring proper cost management of the IT budget
As Head of Business Technology (Specialist 1) you will be responsible for optimising the IT landscape in terms of efficiency, reliability and return on investment. Your focus in the role will be to identify areas of continuous improvement, IT optimisation and to support the identification and implementation of process and technology improvements to ensure a best in class service appropriate to the needs and size of our business.
Key qualifications & criteria:
3rd level qualification in related field or equivalent work experience
Experience in the development and management of Managed Service provision
Track record of leading complex IT transformation e.g. rationalisation, integration, e-commerce
Experience in developing and implementing enterprise-wide IT strategy (including systems rationalisation)
Knowledge and understanding of operating with 3rd party value based partnerships and outsourcing models
Excellent communication skills – shares clear and appropriately detailed information (Written and Oral)
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent analytical skills – identifies issues and their potential root causes; makes decisions considering benefits and costs, balances analysis with decisiveness
Strong negotiation skills with proven ability to maintain relationships with stakeholders and to influence stakeholders in support of project delivery
Demonstrates personal energy and a positive attitude that influences others
Proven ability to build, motivate and lead high performing teams
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide 3 verifiable references
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year back ground check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in
*If you are a non Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
