Are you interested in growing your career in our 4 star Airline? Applications are currently being invited for the role of Financial Reporting Specialist within the Aer Lingus Finance Department. Reporting to the Manager Planning & Reporting, the successful candidate will work as part of a small and cohesive financial planning & analysis team which oversees the development, preparation, and reporting of the airline’s Budgets, Forecasts, and the Corporate 5 Year Plan. In addition, the successful candidate will offer support to the Financial Reporting Team and Management Accounting Team and will be expected to lead and support various projects relating to Finance and other commercial projects.

Your role:

Financial planning and analysis:
Developing and maintaining forecasts, budgets and 5 year plan financial inputs
Preparation of quarterly management re-forecast reporting packs, for submission to our parent company, IAG, within tight group reporting timelines
Preparation of presentations and reports, for submission to a number of stakeholders, including CFO, Aer Lingus Executive Management, and IAG
Responsibility for the preparation of financial analysis versus competitor and industry benchmarks, on a monthly basis, with the output presented to CFO
Working closely with Finance stakeholders to design and deploy enhanced reporting across a range of areas
Management accounting and reporting:
Working closely with the Management Accounting team, and assisting in the preparation of the monthly management accounts, and reporting to the Aer Lingus Executive Management and IAG
Directing and co-ordinating inputs from stakeholders, within and external to Finance
Preparation of variance analysis, including, but not limited to the tracking of actual and forecast performance against key benchmarks, such as Budget, 5 Year Plan, and prior year
Designing  and deploying processes to significantly enhance monthly and quarterly reporting, ensuring a high standard of business insights across a range of dimensions
Financial reporting:
Assisting the Financial Reporting team in the preparation of statutory reporting, including quarterly reporting to our parent company, IAG, and our year-end financial statements
Preparation of compliance forms which are produced quarterly
Other responsibilities:
Providing financial analysis & modelling services including trend analysis, and identification, tracking and reporting of Risks and Opportunities
Providing financial analysis and modelling services, to the CFO, and the Director Reporting & Accounting, in relation to diverse queries and information requests from IAG and Aer Lingus Executive Management
Assisting with a broad range of ad hoc finance and commercial projects

To be considered for the role of Financial Reporting Specialist candidates must meet the following:
Your qualifications and essential criteria:

Strong Financial Background - Qualified accountant, or equivalent experience
Excellent project management skills
Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Proven experience of analysing and presenting complex financial information to senior management and to non-finance management
Strong commercial focus and drive to succeed, with high energy and determination
Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships, and lead and relate to people and teams which have different working styles
Be equally comfortable working alone with minimal direction, within a cohesive team, or as part of an ad-hoc, multi-disciplinary project team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to articulate clearly and accurately
Proven report writing and presentation skills, with proven experience of presenting to, and engaging with senior management
Focussed attitude to work, with the ability to constantly meet deadlines, while ensuring excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy, while remaining strategically focussed
The ability to rapidly develop insightful high quality analysis (including complex excel models) and presentations within relatively short timescales is also very important 
Proven ability to systematically gather, test, review, monitor, analyse and report on financial information
Ability to become familiar with new systems and relatively large and complex data sets on a timely and unassisted basis
Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide 3 verifiable references
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year back ground check* (or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in)

*If you are a non Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
