We’re the department that manages the scheduled maintenance, modification and repair of our A320 and A330 fleet in order to retain the highest levels of safety and reliability. Based in Dublin Airport and reporting to the Manager of Engineering, you will have responsibility for providing technical support on Structural issues and ensuring that work instructions for Structural items are issued to the required standards so that our operation remains safe and efficient.

Your role:

Providing continuing airworthiness management for A320 series aircraft
Evaluating Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA) e.g. ADs, SBs, VSBs, CMMs, etc.
Reviewing post check working party inspection reports and call up repairs as required
Monitoring and update Aircraft Structural Damage records
Reviewing the approval of modifications and repairs
Liaising with Compliance and Standards departments in relation to closing audit findings.
Composing business cases and Risk Assessments, as required
Support Line and Base Maintenance to ensure aircraft serviceability and provide support to other departments in Aer Lingus as necessary (including Materials, Quality, Planning, Ground Operations, Flight Operations, Finance)
Liaising with A330 Technical Support provider
Providing call-out support as required to assist MCC in AOG/work stoppage situations
Supporting the delivery and/or redelivery of aircraft. This may involve document inspection, physical aircraft/engine inspections, and presentation of continuing airworthiness records etc.
Processing Technical Assistance Queries assigned to Structures group
Generating Technical Notices

To be considered for the role of Engineering Specialist – Structures, candidates must meet the following:

Your qualifications & key criteria:

Practical experience in aviation and safety related operating procedures
Comprehensive knowledge of the MMOE and relevant OPS procedures
Knowledge of the Quality system
5 years relevant work experience of which 2 years must be in an aeronautical environment.
Engineering Degree or A/C Maintenance Engineer’s Licence
General familiarisation course on the type(s) of aircraft operated.
Regulatory knowledge
Knowledge of maintenance methods
Ability to split complex maintenance tasks into clear stages Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide 3 verifiable references
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year back ground check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in
Possess and be able to demonstrate the key competencies and skills outlined below

*If you are a non Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
