Digital Services Principal Developer

Reporting to the DS Team Lead, the Digital Services Principal Developer will work within the Digital Services (DS) development team reporting to the DS Team Lead. This role will lead the technical delivery for a team or group of services, with a technical design focus. The Principal Developer will work closely with the architect and the project Technical Lead(s) to ensure adherence to the solution design for a project or multiple projects.

Responsible for overall technical ownership and direction of relevant domain
Technical owner of DS technical solutions across multiple services
Working closely with the Technical Lead and Solution Architect
Acting as a champion for development best practices
Acting as a champion for continuous learning so that the skill level of the department continues to improve and deliver more effectively
Driving standards and Innovation within the development team
Working in compliance with coding standards and best practices
Performing code reviews with a focus on design principles and recommend improvements
Providing assistance to Junior Developers when needed
Developing coding documentations and other technical specifications for assigned projects
Responsible for defining Delivery Transformation & proving any POC work
Your qualifications & key criteria:
Previous experience as a Senior Developer in a large scale software development project
10 years + Java technologies
Solid experience working with REST services and Spring Frameworks
Strong Design knowledge, both code design patterns and API design principles
Application Servers (JBoss an advantage)
Experience of Web Services
Continuous build/integration (Jenkins,Gradle, Git)
Strong communications skills, both documentary and verbal, from deep technical through to business presentations at executive level
Ability to present technical ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Be in possession of or be able to obtain an airside security pass
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Professional IT qualification and/or proven working experience with software development
Good knowledge of airline business processes
*If you are a non Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
