Are you interested in growing your career in our 4 star Airline? Applications are currently being invited for the role of Tax Specialist in the Insurance, Tax and Treasury team in Dublin. Reporting to the Director of Insurance, Tax and Treasury the role involves all aspects of corporate tax planning, structuring, and strategy and reporting, as well as overseeing accounting and compliance of all taxes. The successful candidate will be the main point of contact for tax advisors and Revenue, and a key member of the wider finance team. Internally, the individual will provide support throughout the organisation to ensure that Aer Lingus is operating in both a tax efficient and compliant manner. This includes contact with the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Committee. The individual is responsible for keeping up to date with all current tax and accounting legislation.

Oversee all aspects of the Group’s Irish and overseas Corporate Tax compliance obligations to meet all legislative tax compliance requirements
Manage tax compliance for the group for income and payroll taxes to ensure compliance with relevant tax authorities for such taxes
Provision of accurate and practical tax advisory support to various business units within the organisation.
To support the business and ensure the organisation is operating in a compliant and tax efficient manner, co-ordinating tax solutions with external advisors and senior management
Management of all tax accounting for current and deferred taxes in the group’s P&L and Balance Sheet tax accounts for quarterly/half yearly and annual group and statutory reporting in conjunction with the financial reporting team
Continuously monitor Tax process and systems to ensure efficient and accurate compliance with current regulatory and legislative requirements
Manage relationship with domestic and foreign tax authorities, including regular meetings to represent Aer Lingus.
Build on relationship with tax authorities to ensure that issues are resolved and advice can be sought in a timely and efficient manner
Responsible for ensuring that the Organisation’s policies and procedures are in line with current tax legislation
Keeping up to date with all current tax legislation to aid tax efficient decision making in the organisation
Ensure outsource provider meets KPI’s and company overseas VAT compliance while monitoring and reviewing compliance procedures for Irish VAT
To be considered for the role of Tax Specialist, candidates must meet the following:
Your qualifications & essential criteria:
Qualified Accountant with a minimum 3 years PQE preferred
AITI qualified or Chartered Tax Consultant (or equivalent)
Strong technical tax compliance and advisory skills essential
Experience in Irish VAT beneficial
Strong accounting knowledge essential
Strong technical accounting skills an advantage
A high level of flexibility and the ability to manage competing demands
Strong written and oral communication skills
Team orientated, with the ability to work in a collaborative environment
Positive disposition in challenging situations
Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive
Strong commercial focus
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of an integrated team
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year background check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in.
*If you are a non-Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
