Reporting to the Head of Ground Safety, Training & Compliance, the role holder shall assist and support the Self Handling Airports and Network Airports to ensure that all areas of Ground Operations Catering are compliant with all necessary regulatory standards and shall create the Aer Lingus Ground Operations Catering Manual (GOCM).
The CSSS shall report centrally and collaborate with the wider Ground Safety, Compliance and Training team – they will operate and support the Head of Catering in all matters relating to Safety, Compliance & Security. The successful candidate shall also work closely with the Corporate Safety & Security Office maintaining a high level of security integrity in our operation as well as supporting the occupational health and safety specialist in driving a safety & compliance culture throughout the catering business.
The CSSS shall implement an internal inspection program across all Airports we uplift and will be the central point for all data collection from these inspections and will develop a suite of management reports detailing the level of compliance as a measurement from the internal audits. They shall maintain consistent reporting for the Nominated Person Ground Operations to ensure the companies legal obligations are met under the EASA Part ORO. The CSSS shall be the focal point for Safety, Security and Compliance across the wider Catering department.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Developing and maintaining procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations within Ground Operations Catering and with 3rd party handing partners
Implementing full review of operations and create a new Ground Operations Catering Manual (GOCM).
Preparing, participating and administering Catering Operations group meetings between the management team, developing and implementing ensuing procedures agreed at the meeting.
Preparing, issuing and distributing Catering Handling Instructions (CHI)’s, Catering Handling Bulletin(CHB), Safety Alerts and Station Notices
Developing and implementing an effective method of staff acknowledgement of GOCM Updates, CHI’s, CHB’s, Safety Alerts and Station Notices
Completing training needs analysis and with support of manager ground training creating and implementing a fit for purpose catering training matrix and associated training syllabi
Liaising with Central Ground Operations on compliance issues to ensure compliant operations implement Internal inspection program for each Self Handling Airport to ensure compliant operations
Developing and introducing management statistics and compliance reports as a result of the internal auditing programme and ensure compliant operations
Assisting functional areas with the development of Corrective Action Plans to ensure audit findings are recognised, actioned and completed
Ensuring all documentation used across Self Handling Airports is up to date and version controlled Liaise with the Ground Training Manager to ensure training courses maintain compliance according to any changes in the GOCM
Preparing and Managing any audits conducted on the Catering Operations by internal or external auditors
Supporting and assisting in the preparation, analysis and completion of Hazard Identification Risk Analyses’ (HIRAs) and manage any corrective actions identified Support and assist management team in promoting Compliance
Preparing reports, statistics and analyse data as requested
Developing effective lines of communication with all relevant internal customers, suppliers and control authorities
Assisting Safety Investigations and disciplinary processes to ensure compliance and consistency
Supporting and driving the Inventory & Control (Shrinkage) initiatives as directed by the Inventory Control and Risk Manager
Assisting with Ground Operations Catering safety investigations, collecting, verifying and maintaining comprehensive reference database/s of investigated events and associated information
Co-ordinating and processing relevant correspondence and responses related to safety investigations (notifications, requests for information, reports and safety recommendations)
Acting as a focal point (SME) for advice on safety and security procedures, providing support and mentoring to Front Line Supervisors, managers and Staff Representatives across self-catering stations.
Member of the Ground Operations Safety Action Group.
Monitoring the in-depth analysis of accidents and serious incidents, reviewing probable root cause, recommends and delivers positive process changes as a result
Carrying out periodic safety and security inspections to support the departmental drive for continuous improvement
To be considered for the position of Ground Operations Catering – Compliance, Safety & Security Specialist (CSSS) candidates must meet the following:
Experience in Ground Operations, Catering Operations or equivalent.
Experience or ability to learn drafting of operational documentation, version control and technical writing
Ability to communicate new procedures and processes in a format that can be understood and implemented by parties within Aer Lingus Ground Catering Operations, other departmental areas in Aer Lingus and by external 3rd Party Handling Partners
Excellent skills in mobile programs such as iAuditor, Numbers and other mobile applications
Ability to interpret regulations and legislation, and apply system safety and risk management principles
Able to prepare written reports, including accident, incident and investigation reports.
High level of integrity, able to maintain confidentiality during the investigation process
Key Competencies / Skills Required:

Proven decision making skills with the ability to make timely, clear-cut, well informed and evaluated decisions
Project management / program management experience
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; able to identify key points and problems, making links between issues to consider alternative solutions and their impact.
Ability to lead and influence people and functions.
Proven business acumen, technical learning/innovation management and a drive for results
Proficient in Microsoft Office (most notable Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
*If you are a non Irish Citizen, you will need to bein possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
