Are you interested in growing your career with Ireland’s only 4 star airline? We are looking for a (Fixed-Term) Fleet Control Co-ordinator to join our growing Operations Control Department.
The Operations Control Department is home to the Global Control Centre (GCC) which comprises a matrix organisational structure populated by high calibre staff from Operations, Maintenance, Guest and Social Media providing a 24hr centralised command and control centre delivering efficient working practice to drive OTP and guest experience. The GCC opened in October 2018 to support the strategy for growth and development of the Aer Lingus Value Carrier model. The Fleet Control team form an integral part of the GCC structure which is responsible for delivering the airlines daily network schedule from day of Ops +72 hours while also tasked with ensuring a safe, compliant, efficient and cost effective operation. The GCC is also responsible for activation of the airline’s Emergency Response Plan and operational continuity during an Emergency Response Event. You will have primary responsibility for optimisation of day-to-day aircraft utilisation while driving on time performance in a complex operation.

Manage and Monitor the location of the fleet throughout the day to deliver on-time performance by solving schedule and fleet issues where plans are disrupted.
Ensure relevant departments and stakeholders are advised of schedule delays and irregular operations.
Plan and Organise the optimum Fleet order of departure for the daily schedule across all bases, taking into account availability of aircraft, the maintenance schedule, aircraft performance, crew pairings / rotations, airport restrictions and guest load factors.
Identify and implement Fleet assignment resolution in order to keep schedule deviation to a minimum and avoid impact on guests
Be the central primary link between the GCC and Maintenance Control to deliver the maintenance schedule and ensure aircraft are available in correct location as required in line with the maintenance plan
Participate in all preplanning activities; assess the impact of recovery options on the operation and present recommendations to Duty Ops Controller
Recommend and implement on the day fleet and schedule changes to avoid additional significant operational costs for the organisation (including cancellation, equipment change and aircraft swaps)
Source and manage on the day ad-hoc ACMI in conjunction with the Operations Control Duty Manager and maintain a data base for Ad hoc ACMI lease-in / out
On the day operational link and co-ordination between Aer Lingus operations and the operations Control of all franchise operators, partner operators and ACMI operators while monitoring on the day operational progress of each for deviation from schedule.
Coordinate and implement operational conservation programmes as required from time to time while delivering operational stability
Manage and Monitor Aircraft Movements and runway slots to ensure airports are aware of changes, extra flights or cancellation to avoid costly fines for the company
Maintain the AIMS system and other IT applications with the most up to date information to ensure Crews, Ground Operations teams, guests and third part suppliers have real-time accurate information at all times.
Drive change to Fleet Control processes and procedures which enable optimisation of day-to-day aircraft utilisation and improves the airline’s irregular operations management
Monitor ACARS communications to ensure Flight Crew are advised of Fleet and Schedule changes
Ensure a constant application of Aer Lingus commercial and operational policies and procedures
Prepare reports on irregular operations / cancellations detailing recovery plan, impact on fleet and any costs incurred by Aer Lingus
Key player in the ERP plan, with a focus on operational continuity and supporting the Operations Control Duty Manager
Rotate through Ops control desks and become part of the multi functional teams in the Global Control Centre
Perform operational duties and projects as required by the Manager Operations Control or deputy
To be considered for the position of Fleet Control Co-ordinator, candidates must meet the following:
Your qualifications & key criteria:
Proven experience in Airline Operations or transport logistics with a minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience and broad base airline knowledge
Understanding of the Aer Lingus Safety Management System
A sound knowledge and appreciation of the detail and complexity of the regulatory environment governing airline operations.
Highly organised with excellent planning, co-ordination, monitoring and evaluation skills
Proven strong multi tasking and time management skills with well-developed prioritising skills
Self motivated with a high level of initiative, commitment and flexibility
Strong decision making abilities
Ability to influence others to move toward a common vision or goal
Flexible and adaptable, with proven ability to operate in a dynamic, fast paced, ever changing environment with a positive attitude to change.
Team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills

Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide 2 verifiable references
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year back ground check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the Dublin airport as this position is based in Dublin
*If you are a non-Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
