Maintenance & Engineering Department Dublin
Applications are currently being invited for the role of MCC Materials Supervisor. We are looking for a MCC Materials Supervisor to join our Maintenance & Engineering Department. We’re the department that is responsible for maintenance of our Fleet of A320, A321, and A330 aircraft. Based in Hangar 6 at Dublin Airport with Line Maintenance departments in Dublin, Shannon, Cork and also at UK and North American stations our aircraft engineers perform line maintenance and check (base) maintenance on all of our fleet up to A checks. Maintenance activities are supported by our own Engineering, Planning, Quality Assurance and Materials (Logistics) departments.
Reporting to the Materials Operations Manager, you will have responsibility for managing and prioritizing the daily work plans for the MCC materials area ensuring that they support the operational requirements of the fleet, including Line & Base Maintenance activities.
The MCC Materials Supervisor supports the Materials Operations Manager and Materials Manager in the daily operational materials support of the fleet. This allows focus by materials management on more strategic and value added activities such as contract management, inventory usage and disposal and supplier management and development.
Ensuring all required AOG and Deferred Defect Rectification reporting for materials support is complete and available for the daily tech review meeting.
Manage all resultant action items from the tech review meeting relating to materials.
Provide management information to Materials Operations Manager on airline inventory usage throughout the network.
Development of the MCC materials function through AMOS and other complementary automated processes.
Daily operational supervision of MCC Materials Controllers and responsibility for people management, rostering and annual leave.
Supervise the daily work issues and prioritise as necessary so as to minimise aircraft downtime and improve the technical despatch reliability of fleet and efficiency of the area.
Where required , perform good inwards inspection and receipting of technical and non-technical stocks
All line stations and Check maintenance support in relation to spares supply
Directly participate and perform after hours AOG ordering and management as required
Repair administration including issuance of repair orders and shipment of parts, as required in support of the critical/AOG support activity
Collection, packaging, document preparation (including dangerous goods) and dispatch of all stocks as required using the appropriate AMOS modules
Monitoring and control of all stocks below the minimum stock levels at all stock locations using the appropriate AMOS modules. Where appropriate – propose replenishment to the Inventory section.
Where required, perform shelf life management of all stocks within AMOS including line stations as necessary
Liaise with GCC and the Duty Maintenance Manager on operational issues relating to materials coordination to support GCC staff in performing their duties.
Where required, assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the stores in accordance with IAA regulations and best practices
Participate and provide support as required regarding all engine shop material requirements
Organise, review and participate in pre check meetings as required and provide support regarding all A Check related planned and unplanned material requirements
Training of staff on AMOS system developments and upgrades as they affect materials MCC operations team and draft appropriate procedures
Recommend work practice changes to Materials Operations Manager to improve the materials operations efficiencies in line with M&E’s continuous improvement program
Provide support as required to the Materials Operations Manager, Inventory, Supplier & Materials Data Specialist and the Materials Manager
Seek to Minimise shipping costs
Seek to minimise wasted investment in additional Inventory
Seek to minimise cost related to acquisition of spares to support Line and Check related Aircraft , on loan , exchange or purchase basis
Prepare to represent Materials at the daily technical delays meeting
Maintain and update the Materials Operations procedures manual
Display flexibility and commitment in manning critical shifts as a result of unforeseen or Adhoc manpower
To be considered for the position of MCC Materials Supervisor, candidates must meet the following:
Your qualifications & key criteria:
Previous supervisory experience
Detailed knowledge of the procurement process and policies with regards to the sourcing of required aircraft spares
Ability to negotiate best value for money for Aer Lingus supported by expertise in identifying best logistical solution at minimal cost to address AOG or critical spare requests
Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and influence colleagues
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Self-motivated individual with a high level of initiative and commitment while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude to change.
Well–developed computer skills and in depth knowledge of AMOS with the ability to analyse and interpret data for management reporting
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU*
Current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide two verifiable references
Able to pass a five year security background check
Knowledge and awareness of the ERP system Amos would be a distinct advantage
*If you are a non Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
