Applications are currently being invited for the role of Duty Maintenance Engineering Specialist (DMES) within the Maintenance and Engineering Department. Reporting to the Duty Maintenance Manager (DMM), the successful candidate will be required to provide technical expertise to coordinate defect rectification and certain maintenance on the Aer Lingus fleet on a shift-by-shift basis. They will be responsible for monitoring the aircrafts’ technical status while ensuring maximum operational availability, while maintaining the highest levels of airworthiness standards and fleet reliability.

Support Line Maintenance and any contracted maintenance providers to maintain a serviceable fleet
Real-time monitoring of on-board aircraft systems using various software applications
Reliability management involving the continuous assessment of aircraft defects through management of Post Flight Reports (PFRs) and Repeat Item Tracker (RITs) to maximize fleet reliability
Processing of Technical Assist Queries (TAQs)
Compilation and reporting of structural damage reports
Coordination of AOG working parties
Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support; supporting all aspects of returning an aircraft to service
Liaising with engine and other OEMs for any technical issues
Monitoring of aircraft Minimum Equipment List (MEL) deferred defects ensuring rectification in timely manner
Deputising for the DMM, as required
Liaising with the Operations Department and assisting the DMM in prioritising fleet maintenance with a view to meeting operational requirements
Out of hours Airworthiness Directives (AD) monitoring to assist the Engineering Department in maintaining airworthiness standards.
To be considered for the role of Duty Maintenance Engineering Specialist, candidates must meet the following:
Your qualifications & key criteria:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance
Hold an aircraft maintenance technical qualification in EASA Part 66 B1 or B2 disciplines or equivalent third level qualification accompanied by an EASA Part 147 Type Course
Systems and computer skills of a sufficient standard to access record and analyse technical information
Good working knowledge of the Airbus Software suite
Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint): Excel in particular
Sound knowledge of the Aer Lingus Safety Management System
Possess and be able to demonstrate the key competencies and skills outlined below

Eligible to live and work in the Republic of Ireland without restriction.
Hold a full clean driving licence.
Able to provide details of 2 verifiable references.
Able to pass a 5 – year security background check*
Prepared to complete a medical questionnaire and medical examination.
*If you are a non Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
