Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, the successful candidate will be an integral member of the Engineering Department which is responsible for the management of the continuing airworthiness of the Aer Lingus Fleet.

The successful candidate will be a proactive team member who will participate and drive departmental goals of safety, punctuality and reliability whilst generating value for the customer through delivery of our promise of great care, great fare. Candidates are required to have a flexible approach towards working patterns and maybe required to work a shift pattern at short notice in support of areas other than Powerplant within the Engineering Department. Candidates should be available to travel at short notice on occasion.

Your role:

Provide continuing airworthiness management for A330 and A320 series aircraft
Evaluate mandatory maintenance requirements e.g. ADs, ETOPS, etc
Evaluate OEM and vendor technical instructions e.g. SBs, VSB, AOW, AOT etc
Evaluate aircraft/engine upgrades and modifications
Manage the implementation of modifications in accordance with EASA part 21J including RFQ, approval process, and implementation
Generate Engineering Orders in AMOS to accomplish continuing airworthiness requirements
Manage the shop visit/overhaul of aircraft engines/APUs including workscope preparation, LLP replacement, AD and SB call-up and review Repair Specifications/OEM workscope documentation
Review of trend data to monitor the health of Engines/APUs and analyse trend shifts/troubleshooting with OEM
Review of engine maintenance contracts and shop visit costs to ensure compliance and provide support to Finance department
Support Line and Base Maintenance to ensure aircraft serviceability and provide support to other departments in Aer Lingus as necessary (including Materials, Quality, Air Safety, Planning, Ground Operations, Flight Operations, Finance)
Liaise with A330 Technical Support provider
Provide call-out support as required to assist MCC in AOG/work stoppage situations
Facilitate the acceptance and return of Aircraft to lessor/airline (through document inspection, physical aircraft/engine inspections, borescope records, LLP status, engine shop visit history, SB status, etc)
Develop and support the implementation of Lean within the Engineering Department


Your qualifications & key criteria: 

Hold a 3rd Level Engineering Degree or an EASA Part 66 B1 or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years working experience in an aircraft engineering environment, preferably within an airline, MRO or leasing company with a background on A320/A330 aircraft with CFM/CF6 engine types
Strong working knowledge Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power Point etc)
Knowledge of Aircraft OEM and Engine OEM Technical Documentation and IT offerings
Interest in and working knowledge of Lean practices
Understanding of Maintenance Programmes and ETOPS Operation
Experience in the use of AMOS is beneficial
Strong Customer Focus
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally
Proactive approach
Ability to work as part of an integrated engineering team
Proven Project Management skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines.
Self motivated individual with a high level of initiative and commitment 
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide 2 verifiable references
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year back ground check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in

*If you are a non-Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
