We are looking for a DS Technical Lead to join our growing Digital Services team (DS), in the Aer Lingus Digital and Mobile Department in Dublin. Reporting to the DS Team Lead, the candidate will have responsibility for the quality and timeliness of the development initiatives which are the foundation for many Aer Lingus projects and ambitions. The candidate will help build out the vision of the organisations integration strategy and deliver this vision through the implementation of and leading the development of solutions within the digital services team

Your role:

Leading a project team of on-shore and off-shore developers
Project Delivery focus
Designing and specification of enterprise integration applications and services
Delivering own development code tasks
Offering support to other team members with a willingness to perform defect analysis and resolution where required
Translating business requirements into a technical specification
Implementing the solution design ensuring that the development team adheres to the design principles and implementation of high quality code reviews
Actively collaborating with other technical leads to improve and maintain design principles and code standards
Helping provide appropriate sizing estimates 
Maintaining up to date knowledge of industry trends and development
Working with Release Manager to improve Continuous Integration pipelines to ensure a faster iterative delivery of functionality and improvements

Your qualifications & key criteria: 

Previous experience as a technical lead in a large scale software development project
10 years + Java technologies 
Solid experience working with REST services and Spring Frameworks
Strong Design knowledge, both code design patterns and API design principles
Experience working with Application Servers (JBoss an advantage)
Experience working in a Continuous build/integration environment (Jenkins, Gradle, BitBucket)
Strong communications skills, both documentary and verbal
Ability to present technical ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Ability to lead, mentor and motivate team of developers, managing day to day tasks and ensuring high quality code deliverables
Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide 2 verifiable references
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year back ground 
check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in
Possess and be able to demonstrate the key competencies and skills outlined below

*If you are a non-Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries 

Desirable skills: 
Professional IT qualification and/or proven working experience with software development
Experience of Amazon Web Services Cloud technologies
Experience of micro services
Good knowledge of airline business processes
