Applications are currently being invited for the role of a tenacious and ambitious Accountant to join our Finance team in Dublin. You will work as part of the Financial Reporting team, who are responsible for preparing internal and external financial reporting and driving continual improvements in the quality of management reporting. To act as the front line custodian for the integrity of all financial values and KPIs relating to all capitalised assets and depreciation costs (relevant areas of responsibility)
Responsibility for recording, consolidating and reporting all internal and external financial information relating to the relevant areas of responsibility.
Responsibility for all core accounting, planning and reporting processes, and the maintenance of a robust control environment relating to the reporting of capitalised assets, projects and depreciation. Key outputs include budgets/ forecasts, monthly reports and general ledger outputs to support quarterly releases and the annual report.
Ensuring a highly reliable monthly closing, consolidation and reporting process delivered within a culture of timeliness, integrity and transparency
Oversight of right of use leases, fixed assets and capital projects, including regular review of the fixed asset register for impairment or disposals, and tracking of project spend versus budget.
Ensuring financial integrity of forecasts (5 year plan, budgets, re-forecasts) relating to relevant areas of responsibility and proper recording in financial systems
Preparation of monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, monthly variance analysis, analysing variances versus budget, forecast and prior year, giving clear insight into the drivers of variances
Assist in completion of the quarterly financial accounts pack, for submission to our parent company within tight group reporting timetables
Responsibility for Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (“ICFR”) framework with regard to relevant areas of responsibility.
Addressing ad-hoc queries which may arise from time to time from external and internal auditors, business control team and other stakeholders.Assisting the other finance teams and our commercial department with technical accounting queries and the explanation of how commercial decisions made may be accounted for
Preparation of the statutory financial statements prepared under International Financial Reporting Standards
Assisting with a broad range of ad hoc projects supporting the finance function
To be considered for the role of Financial Reporting Accountant candidates must meet the following:
Your qualifications & key criteria:
Qualified accountant, e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of regulations and interpretations governing financial statements and disclosure, including Companies Act and IFRS
A strong interest in, and aptitude for, management and financial reporting
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software applications combined with general proficiency in IT systems
Proven ability to systematically gather, test, review, monitor, analyse and report on management information
Practical approach to solving problems
Strong commercial focus, combined with drive and determination
Focused attitude to work, with the ability to constantly meet deadlines while ensuring excellent attention to detail & high levels of accuracy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include proven report writing & presentation skills
Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
Inquisitive, outgoing, tenacious and comfortable challenging the “status quo”
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of an integrated team
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU *
Current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide two verifiable references
Able to pass a five year security background check
*If you are a non-Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
