Are you interested in growing your career with Ireland’s only 4 star airline? We are looking for a DI Production Infrastructure Lead to join our growing Digital & Mobile Team. The purpose of the Production Infrastructure Lead is to manage a sub team within Digital Infrastructure (DI) to work within the D&M program and take ownership of production infrastructure and support. Based in Dublin Airport and reporting to the Digital Production Support Manager, they will be responsible for collaborating with the DevOps team, Business and Application Support to contribute to on-going review of the production support processes to continuously improve performance making a stable and flexible infrastructure delivering business requirements. The role will explore options for existing D&M processes and evaluate new procedures and practices with a view to making the DI function more structured and efficient.

Your role:

Lead the infrastructure team to design and execute near to long term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity attains current and future needs.
Ensures the development, execution, while overseeing the procedures, policies and related training plans for operating production environments.
Oversees operational costs, conduct near and long-term financial analysis and estimates for expanded functionality and user base.
Ensure to practice IT asset management inclusive of component inventory maintenance and associated documentation.
Negotiate with outsourcers, vendors and contractors for infrastructure-specific products and services secure.
Leverages infrastructure team to conduct research and recommend changes in services, products, protocols and standards to support development efforts and infrastructure procurement.
Facilitates the definition and management of Disaster Recovery Strategy for our Fulfilment sites.
Develop and ensure testing procedures for optimal server and network performance.
Lead the infrastructure team to report and prepare strategies to maintain server infrastructure.
Ensure apt security levels on network, infrastructure, and servers are maintained.
Perform feasibility studies for different upgrade projects, conversions and improvements.
Strong overall knowledge of technology business and best practices
Experience in work with and managing off-shore vendors
Driving change within the department by examining processes within the team and across IT ensuring they are efficient and delivering satisfactorily to the other business units
Ensuring that the team develop within and across various technical skills which will improve resource utilisation
Working co-operatively with other stakeholders within D&M to deliver Aer Lingus’ business objectives
Ensuring succession planning by developing talent and communicating knowledge
Ensuring the Optimum support structure is in place maintain Operational Stability
Interpreting business requirements from a wider perspective and recommend/propose the most appropriate technical solutions in line with industry advances
Establishing and maintaining a culture of review and continuous improvement in how we deliver services
Collaborative approach to working with other Functional Managers, Enterprise Architecture, Business Managers and Partners to achieve Company objectives

Your qualifications & key criteria:

IT degree or similar experience
3-5 years leadership experience with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects
Experience and up to date knowledge in all areas of current infrastructure including, AWS, AIX, Linux, Wintel, Virtualisation, SAN, Voice and data Networks
Experience and knowledge of emerging technologies such as SaaS, IaaS, PaaS
Experience in working with and managing off-shore vendors
Sound understanding of the organization's business strategy and industry direction
Experience with the full development lifecycle (planning, requirements, design/architecture, development, implementation, support/maintenance)
Experience working in a strong project governance environment and maintaining delivery
Able to maintain and develop top-level, internal and external relationships
Requires strong communications skills to deliver simple or complex information and understanding when each is where appropriate.
Broad knowledge of the Airline Industry
Demonstrates ability to resolve problems at a management and technical level
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide 2 verifiable references
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year back ground
check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in
Possess and be able to demonstrate the key competencies and skills outlined below

*If you are a non-Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
