Are you interested in growing your career with Ireland’s only 4 star airline? We are looking for a UX Writer to join our growing Digital Experience Team. We’re the department that researches, designs and optimises performance across all digital channels, delivering experiences that deliver almost 80% of revenue as well as industry leading guest experience. Reporting to the Digital Content Manager, the successful candidate will have responsibility for all information and language through key user flows and tasks and wider product and support content, while consistently adhering to the Aer Lingus tone of voice and brand guidelines. The purpose of the role is to drive effective use of language and communications across our digital channels, increasing engagement and usefulness and usability of content. The successful candidate will deliver towards key business goals by maximizing the commercial impact of content and optimising user experience, utilising a balance of writing, research, analysis, editing, distributing, managing and monitoring content; and work with various commercial and technical teams, both internally and externally.

Craft copy that is not only compelling and concise, but also user-friendly, appropriate within the given context, and on-brand using defined tone of voice guidelines.
Working with UX and UI designers, researchers and information architects to ensure that the product layout and copy work harmoniously together.
Managing existing aerlingus.com content within the CMS while continuously improving its purpose, production, delivery, measurement and re-use; taking into consideration the long-term capabilities and priorities of the company.
Creating content that is valuable, relevant, flexible, and searchable; that appears to the right people, in the right places, at the right time.
Carrying out regular analysis and health-checks on existing copy and content.
Using visual content to help boost brand awareness and user engagement.
Researching the competitive landscape and wider digital innovation to continuously keep up with rapidly evolving digital methods and best practices.
Your qualifications & key criteria:
A third level qualification in digital/marketing/communications, or a related field
Experience as a UX Writer with a portfolio demonstrating your ability to craft clear and concise copy
Experience in a content management role using Content Management Systems (CMS)
Experience of a UX driven environment with a solid understanding of user experience design - using insights to help shape language and content decisions
Proficient in HTML / CSS
Proficient in Adobe design software
Experience using JIRA/Confluence or other project planning and management tools
Experience using prototyping tools (Axure)
Have an understanding of the entire product design and development process — and how good copy contributes to that
Ability and drive to learn new technologies, tools and processes
Ability to work independently, make informed decisions quickly, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
Ability to work closely with Designers, Product Owners and Developers
Experience in working with external partners and agencies
Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable
Strong organisational and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide 3 verifiable references
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year back ground check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in
Possess and be able to demonstrate the key competencies and skills
*If you are a non Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
