The FP&A team are a small and energetic team who drive the airline’s financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes. Every day is a new challenge, with the FP&A team continually looking for ways to improve and provide the business with key insights for decision making. As a member of this team, you will work closely with all other areas of the finance department to; review and interpret departmental financial analysis, drive the production of financial forecasts, and support our team to get better at what we do.

Oversee the delivery of monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc management reporting (including reporting to senior management, the Aer Lingus Management Committee and IAG), driving improvements to the quality of reporting and efficiency of processes, and co-ordinating stakeholders
Perform regular in-depth analysis of results, with considerations to the drivers of performance which are linked to key business activities and strategic indicators
Responsibility for the consolidation of financial forecasts within tight timelines (including annual and longer term forecasting), working closely with stakeholders across finance and the business, and presenting outputs to senior management and IAG
Support / project manage projects for improvement of finance processes; including a key 2019 project to (1) implement a new financial planning and analysis tool and (2) introduce wow factor financial reporting throughout the organisation, and other planning exercises (such as fleet renewal and financing decisions)
Develop in-depth knowledge of the competitive landscape by playing a key role in market analysis, working closely with the airline’s strategy team
To be considered for the role of FP&A Analyst candidates must meet the following:
Your qualifications & key criteria:
Qualified accountant, e.g. ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent
Excellent project management skills
Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Proven experience of analysing and presenting complex financial information
Driven to succeed, with high energy and determination
Strong technical accounting knowledge is preferable
General proficiency in IT systems
Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships, and lead and relate to people and teams which have different working styles
Strong analytical skills with the ability to grasp issues quickly, with minimal direction and guidance
Be equally comfortable working alone with minimal direction, within a cohesive team, or as part of an ad-hoc, multi-disciplinary project team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to articulate clearly and accurately
Proven report writing and presentation skills, with proven experience of presenting to, and engaging with senior management
Focussed attitude to work, with the ability to constantly meet deadlines, while ensuring excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy, while remaining strategically focussed
The ability to rapidly develop insightful high quality analysis (including complex excel models) and presentations within relatively short timescales is also very important
Proven ability to systematically gather, test, review, monitor, analyse and report on financial information
Ability to become familiar with new systems and relatively large and complex data sets on a timely and unassisted basis
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Eligible to live and work in the EU
Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
Provide 2 verifiable references
Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year back ground check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in
*If you are a non-Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
